A Message from the Creator:

Hi! My name is Riti Ramanujachari. I'm an Indian-Australian student filmmaker! Armed with my grandpa's camera, I've been making films and telling stories ever since I was 7 years old. Many of my short films have been selected for several film festivals, as well as received honorable mentions. Over the past couple of months, I've been working with Jessica Orcsik and Diversity Pictures LLC (Int), as well as a wonderful team of fellow storytellers, to create my short film A Girl Meets A Boy
IMDB

Why this project?
As a woman of color, passionate about unique and diverse stories, I wanted to create something that explored the power of relationships. Drawn to stories that are both informative and entertaining, I used dark narratives and genres to tell the story of two individuals, who at first have no connection to each other, but by the end, their lives are changed forever.

Additionally, I also wanted to incorporate and explore a current issue we face today: the consequences of drink driving. Statistics have shown that out of the 3.4 million RBTs conducted in 2021, 33% of those driving were teenagers and young adults. That's around
1.12 million fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, sons, and daughters who will never see their families again. And at the cost of what? In terms of this short film, I thought it would be interesting to explore and break down the idea of what if one of these drunk drivers had an unknowing encounter with the consequence of their actions?

So that is why this short film is so important in today's world. We need stories that open our eyes and make us aware of issues in our society today. I want this film to promote these types of conversations so that we can speak up and unconsciously save someone
else's loved one.

I am passionate about telling stories that focus on the human experience and one's relationship with the people around them. I want to communicate screen stories that both entertain an audience and provide a hidden message. Through this film, I want to convey
to the audience, that it only takes one person to change your life forever.

Any donation or contributor to the film will be credited in the film's end credits.
