A golf cart for the Sheriff's Office mounted unit

Hi, my name is Joe, and I’m fundraising for St. John’s County Sheriff’s Office - Mounted Unit.

I am a resident of St. Johns County, and my family and I are proud supporters of our Sherrif's office but in no way related to, associated with or employees of SJSO.

 

We learned that the newest unit of the agency (Mounted Unit) is in need of a Golf cart. This Golf cart would be used in parades and other community activities as well as to support their Deputies while on horseback.

Some of the other SJSO units have their own carts, but these cannot be shared between different units as they need to have their own when they travel and that way, it does not take away from the rest of the county.

 

Not every unit has funds to buy equipment. Many of the equipment they get is donated by the community and our citizens and it's up to each unit to raise funds when needed in order to acquire what they need when it's not in the budget.

 

Many on the Nextdoor app and Facebook groups suggested a GoFundMe, hence why this campaign was started. It's great to see the community helping one another for a great cause.

 

There are a few listings for used Golf carts on Nextdoor, Craigslist and Facebook marketplace. One of the least expensive ones is listed on Nextdoor for $3950 and seems like a good candidate. I have reached out to the seller to inform him of our intentions (I have no affiliation with the seller). If the campaign is successful, all funds collected will be entirely donated to the SJSO.
