Amie’s story

Hi, my name is Lucie.

I have made this on behalf of my mum. My mums name is Amie, she’s 38 and this is her story.

In early 2023, the doctor accidentally found a tumour on my mums liver, on the 29th June 2023 she had a high risk operation to get two thirds of her liver removed to remove the tumour. The tumour was removed successfully but after more tests and scans, it turned out that it was infact bile duct cancer of the liver. She was given oral chemotherapy medication to kill any remaining cells. 12 weeks later more tests was done and the cancer had spread further into her liver, she now has stage 4 liver cancer. She’s undergoing intense chemotherapy which is just prolonging her life, the chemo causing her to loose her hair and as a female we all know how much hair plays into our confidence and identity.
