A Granddaughter's Love: Care for Nana
Donation protected
I had to make a choice between taking care of my granny or my job. I'm a mom to three girls: one adult daughter, two minor daughters, and a granddaughter. I'm taking care of my granny. My grandmother got sick from me (I was working in a school with multi-needs kiddos). I asked for a leave of absence but was told grandparents don't qualify for LOA. This is where I had to make a decision.
Right now, she needs more care, and for me and my children, a nursing home is not an option. She raised me and helped me raise my firstborn up to college. I'm having to trust God in all of this. I also know I still have a mortgage, car note, utilities, and supplies that she needs on an everyday basis like Depends, gloves, and colostomy bags, in addition to still having to be a mom and provide for my two younger children, ages 11 and 15. They are also a big help with their Nana.
I posted my story on my page and I was asked about a GoFundMe, so this is why I started it. I don't know what tomorrow may bring, so I'm trusting that God will make a way, if it's here or another way.
