A great cause for an incredible woman and family!
This request is for someone very special to me who I have known for over 38 years. She is one of the most beautiful people I know inside and out and one of the most amazing women and human beings I have ever met. Yvette Sayer!
Back in September (2019) while having a routine mammogram they found a lump. She went in for a biopsy and it was diagnosed as cancer. She quickly had a lumpectomy the following week and was unfortunately diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. This is terrifying news for anyone, but there were so many more difficulties that lay ahead. When the pathology results came back they confirmed two very difficult diagnosis:
1. She has the BRCA gene.
2. Her cancer is something called Triple Negative Cancer, which is very aggressive, very difficult to treat and very hard on the body.
A very unforeseen and difficult obstacle that presented itself between the lumpectomy and the pathology report is the main reason you are reading this. Before she could wrap her mind around what was going on and start to come up with a plan, she was thrown another curve ball. She was unable to keep her job for reasons that have been secured through a confidentiality agreement. So two days after she came back to work after surgery, she learned that she was not only going to lose her income, but have to seek out new employment and new insurance as well. Yes, not on anyone’s wish list, but it happens to be the cards she was dealt and all she could do laugh and shake her head, then cry.
Yvette, is so inspirational to me. She puts on a strong face everyday and doesn’t feel sorry for herself. She continues to put her family first first and focus on the care of others. She would never ask for help, so a couple of friends and I thought this could be the best way to immediately try and help her. Her insurance runs out at the end of December and she has no immediate income coming in. She currently has been denied unemployment due to her condition and though looking for another job, it is very difficult to find employment while going through chemo and multiple, major surgeries to help prevent any type of re-occurrence.
I know there are a lot of people In this world who need help and I hate to ask, but here I am. Yvette is very careful with her money, but unfortunately with the current circumstances, it is not nearly enough. I am hoping that the phrase “Many hands make light work” could be appropriate here. For those of you who know me, you know I would never ask for help unless it was absolutely necessary. I love this woman and want to do whatever I can to help her. You have all been there for me throughout my whole life and I can’t thank you enough. I know the timing couldn’t be much worse with the holidays and lots of expenses, but if you could find it in your heart to help an amazing woman out in one of three ways, I would be indebted to you forever:
1. Financially - By making a donation you would be helping her manage her medical bills she has already incurred and those she will continue to incur for the next year or two. You will also help her maintain insurance coverage until she can find another job. Her current out of pocket was well over $7,000.00 for last year and this will start over again in January. Any money raised through this endeavor will ONLY go to medical bills and insurance coverage. Things associated only with her cancer and surgeries.
2. Networking - If you know of any potential opportunities for employment. Though initially a little flexibility might be needed , she is an extremely capable administrator and marketer. If you have any thought or ideas please reach out, it would mean a lot.
3. If you are unable to help in the ways mentioned above, please keep her in your prayers and send her positive thoughts. This probably is the most important. On several occasions she has been moved to tears simply from the love, thoughtfulness, kindness and support of others. There is beauty in this difficult time.
This whole thing has been so very difficult on her both physically and mentally. I watched It's a Wonderful Life the other night which gave me the courage to try and help her in this manner. "No man (woman) is a failure who has friends". I thought this could show love and support during a very difficult time. Hug your loved ones, tell them you love them, take care of yourself both mentally and physically and go see your doctor regularly. Thank you for taking the time to read and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!!
