A Healing Journey Through Breast Cancer

In August, I was hit with the words no one is ever prepared to hear: “It is cancer.” Of course, the first thought was, 'how is this even possible?" but sometimes we don't get an explanation in circumstances like this. After two biopsies and two mammograms to confirm, the initial recommendation was to undergo surgery to remove my entire left breast and the mass I had found during a routine check in July. After surgery I would be on hormonal suppressant medication for the next 5-10 years and go through a round or two of chemotherapy. A chemical “cocktail” that induces a forced menopause was also discussed.

I am on a fact finding research mission to heal my body and mind from the root so I can live an even more vibrant life from this place forward; for myself, my family, and of course, my two young boys.

Unfortunately, I do not have health insurance so I am reaching out for support. I've been contacting agencies both public and private to find assistance. As you can imagine this is slow-going especially when time is critical. I have received the approximate costs of two routes of treatment. I'd like to ask for your help in raising monies for treatments to begin.

The expenses and investment are great and your donation will help support this journey as well as contribute to ongoing therapies, related medical bills including medications, treatment connected travel/lodging, and potential surgery once I am back in San Angelo. The funds raised here will go into a special Medical Funds account at my bank to allow for full transparency on how monies are allocated.

We don't have to understand it all to believe it but when we seek Him during times of darkness and despair, the Word says, the Lord is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.
