Save LeAnna’s life
Save LeAnna’s life!
I am starting a campaign for LeAnna Brown who is my 2 year old patient in a Pediatric ICU and is in very critical condition. LeAnna was diagnosed with a very rare disease called Multiple acyl-CoA dehydrogenation deficiency (MADD), which is a disorder of fatty acid and amino acid oxidation and is a clinically heterogeneous disorder ranging from a severe neonatal presentation with metabolic acidosis, cardiomyopathy and liver disease, to a mild childhood/adult disease with episodic metabolic decompensation, muscle weakness, and respiratory failure.
In order to survive, LeAnna must have a heart transplant, but because there is not enough research available about her condition, multiple hospitals have declined to save her life. I am asking for donations on behalf of her family to help in any way we can. Your donations will be greatly appreciated. This campaign is dedicated exclusively to LeAnna.
A message from her family:
“Hello my name is Ashley, I'm currently living in Slidell LA. I have a 2 year old daughter with a rare metabolic disorder and heart failure. She has currently been denied a heart transplant that could save her life. Because the doctors don't have enough research on her condition they have declined to save her life. I was told she may not live longer than 2 weeks without the transplant. I'm simply asking for help getting her story out in the hopes someone will come forward with information to advocate on her behalf and I don't have to watch my daughter die. And if nothing else, her story brings attention to this disorder Multiple acyl-CoA dehydrogenation deficiency (MADD) and saves another life one day.”
