A Heart for Lori

One year ago Lori could walk 5 miles and bike 13 miles. Today she is in the fight of her life, as she battles Cardiac Amyloidosis. Cardiac Amyloidosis is a serious heart condition that develops when an abnormal protein called "amyloid" builds up in your heart, interfering with its ability to pump blood effectively, often leading to heart failure.

Despite a fairly early diagnosis (February 2023) and immediate treatment, her condition has progressed rapidly and she is now in need of a heart transplant for survival.

If you know Lori, you know she is kind, generous, and loving. She is an amazing daughter, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. Lori is loyal and thoughtful and she loves her people fiercely!

So now it's our turn to give back. Lori will be heading to a hospital in NYC to wait for a new heart.

We are asking for donations to help cover the cost of medical bills not covered by insurance, as well as travel expenses for her family, especially her children, who will be traveling frequently to be with her.
