A helping hand for Dana

As many of you know, our brother Dana was diagnosed with Stage IV Colorectal/Liver Cancer in June of 2016. Since that time he has remained positive and has fought this disease with strength and determination to survive. The pain, suffering and mental anguish that he has experienced is indescribable, yet he continues to fight for himself and for his family. He is first and foremost a family man that values and cherishes his loving wife Jayne, his sons, daughter in-laws and now seven grandchildren above all else. Dana and Jayne have lived a life of helping and catering to others, never hesitating to help with whatever is in their means. His home is always open to friends, family and often times strangers. He welcomes everyone with open arms, and like his parents, and a true Italian, insists on feeding everyone that walks into his house. This cruel and insidious disease robs a person of everything we hold dear and places unimaginable hardships on the family. One of the most devastating effects is the financial burden it places on a person. Dana has only been able to work from home, on a very limited basis for the last six to eight months. He has spent considerable time in the hospital the past year as well, the result of which is a daily financial struggle. From a conventional medical standpoint, the doctors have moved Dana onto what they describe as “the last line of defense”. He is determined however, to not believe any time frames or prognosis placed on his life from the doctors, but instead, remains positive and continues to fight in hopes that God will grant him a miracle. He wants above all else to live and spend time with his grandchildren, watch them grow up, and to share all of life’s milestones and precious moments with them. For him to be healthy enough to enjoy his time, it requires special diet, supplements, naturopathic and wholistic medicines, as well as many medicines not covered by MSP. As many of you know, we lost our older brother Darrell to Cancer less than a year ago. We have barely had a chance to grieve as we face this same battle with Dana. As family members, we can only do so much to support him. One of which is to pray everyday, the other is to help alleviate some of the financial burden they face. We understand that there are many people that are in need, many suffering with similar situations. It is with this in mind that we ask very humbly and gratefully that you help with anything that you are able, big or small is greatly appreciated. He is so appreciative of all the support thus far, the messages, phone calls and personal visits mean so much to him. His strength, determination and perspective is very inspiring.
