A Helping Hand For Kiba
Donation protected
This is Kiba, he is an American Akita. We got him when we was 3 months old and just a month after loosing my husky that was my best friend for 14 years. Now he is already 15 month old and quite the handful at 105lbs.
Not long ago he had an accident at the local dog park. He ended up tripping over a Corgi while playing with it and injured his back left leg. For at least a few days after he was limping on it and since it wasn't even a year since loosing my husky I began to panic a bit. The limping soon went away, but it was obvious he wasn't applying full pressure on the leg.
A little while after that we managed to get him into a local vet to get it looked at and as I suspected he injured his knee. They said it looks like at least a partial tear and that with rest he should make a recovery. But it was recommended to get some sort of leg brace to help with the process and to make sure it didn't get worse. But with him still being a puppy he has plenty of energy and loves to do zoomies even when he's a little excited. So instead of waiting till something else could possibly happen I want to get him a brace as soon as possible so that something else doesn't happen to him.
This is one of the websites that stuck out to me, but I know there are plenty of others and the price of them can range up to $1,000.

If I actually meet my goal and I go with an option like this one I will use the extra money for some good glucosamine additives to help as well.
We almost always seem to have some kind of bad luck one after another and I just want to be able to get him what he needs without having to put him through some sort of surgery. And this month being a year that I've lost my husky just makes me even more stressed out and worried about him. Any bit would go a long way in making sure we are able to get him walking properly again, thanks.
