A helping hand for Perks of Art

Hello there, 

Perks of Art, established in 2015, is a beautiful ALL Local Arts Gallery and is nestled just at the entrance of Historic Downtown Hillsboro. 

The purpose of Perks! …to connect community with Art as it’s medium. 


While showcasing skill from student art to the professional artist and teaching a variety of inspired classes; our goal is in connecting artists with each other, with the community, and the community with local art and unique gifts. 


We are a hive of creativity! 

The place to shop, connect… and create. 




When we closed our doors in March due to COVID 19,  all revenue stopped. Graciously the city was able to offer some help toward the cost of business, but we still find ourselves reaching to the community for a helping hand in an effort to ‘keep the lights on’ 

All donations received are a blessing, as are positive comments, likes and shares. 




It feels fitting to end with a quote by local author and historian, Tonya Macalino, from her book 'The Battle at Five Oaks’. The final book in her beloved series ’The Gates of Aurona’.

Hannah is scared (who can relate?!)… and in this moment of chaos words of peace were spoken… 

“Actually, Hannah, studies find that people tend to come together in hard times. Kind of the opposite of all these post apocalyptic movies where everybody is killing each other over the last dog bone. The down times are the times when you really see the good in your community…” 


The doors may be closed at this time, but the heart of Perks is still very open.
