A helping hand to Nele & Ipek after fire

On the 24th of June, my good friend Nele Dieleman and her spouse experienced a house fire. In the outcome of this fire, their home was damaged to the point of being uninhabitable without renovations, most of their personal belongings burned down, including their bed, their closet, most of their clothes and electronic devices. Most heartbreaking of all, they lost their cat and many cherished memories.

They are currently trying to renovate their home, but the whole process is adding up to be beyond their budget. As the house is uninhabitable they are living out of a suitcase and have had to change accommodation at least 3 times in the past week. My friend’s spouse was living in a rented property and her landlord had no house insurance because getting insurance is not common in Turkey (insurance companies don’t offer large payouts and paying for insurance is not profitable in the long run). As such, they are in need of help for completing the renovations, so they can go back to their home.

We are seeking donations to help them rebuild their life and cover immediate needs such as clothing, food, and temporary housing. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference and be deeply appreciated.
