A Hero Comes Running in PDX

We are raising funds to support our friend who saved lives by taking quick action to stop a mass shooting.
On February 19th, white supremacist Ben Smith opened fire toward traffic safety volunteers before a Black Lives Matter march in Portland, Oregon, killing one and wounding many others.
Another volunteer who was present used their firearm to shoot Ben Smith in the torso, effectively ending the mass shooting.
This individual, who was legally permitted to carry the gun used to end the mass shooting, turned himself and his firearm into the police and has cooperated with their investigation.
Although he did nothing wrong and carried out a heroic act, this person's safety and financial security has been compromised in the aftermath of this tragedy.
Funds are needed to cover:
Legal representation, although they are not facing criminal chargers, they will need a lawyer for themselves.
Relocation costs (this person's personal safety has been threatened due to "doxxing" by white supremacist groups). They need to secure a safe place to live and hire movers.
Replacing confiscated items that were taken by police as evidence. They need to purchase a new phone, protective gear, safety items, clothing. Etc.
Living expenses, they need to take time to heal from this traumatic event, although their heroic efforts saved countless lives, nobody is prepared to take that step, and the aftermath that follows. They need to be able to cover their financial expenses and not worry that they will go into debt or have their utilities shut off.
Thank you for supporting our comrade.
We take care of us.
The nonprofit will be running this Fundraiser and money will be sent to the hero.
