UPDATE WITH A VIDEO! Watch to see the exciting progress that you have had a wonderful part in! We still need more financial help if you are able to join us.
UPDATE WITH PICTURES: The work has begun! Nelson Glaybo and his crew have broken the ground and have made great progress digging and laying the foundation. We still need more help with the funding, but a big thank you to all who have given so far! We've been able to send these funds to Nelson because the building has to be done now during the dry season before the heavy tropical rains return.
More funds are needed, so there's still time to help if you can. What a great way to start 2024!
Here are some pictures for you!

Hi! My name is Jeanette Blue, and I live in Colorado, USA. I want to raise $16,000 to build a home for Amos and Margret Boe. They live in Liberia where I was born and grew up, so this is a project close to my heart. Some months ago, my sister Carol-Ann started a fundraiser for this but had to discontinue that effort because of technical problems. The funds weren't raised at that time and no house was built, so I'm trying again!
Amos was severely injured during the civil war when he lost his lower left arm and also had terrible cuts on his head. These injuries have limited his ability to make a living and also affect his health, as he often gets severe headaches. Despite all this, whenever I talk to Amos on the phone, he is a spiritual encouragement to me and he prays for my family as I pray for his.

Some years ago, Amos was able to get a piece of property and has a legal deed, but it has been financially impossible for him to build on it. He brings that land to the table, and I will be so glad if we can help build him and Margret a stable place of their own on his land.
I have talked to Nelson Glaybo, the contractor who was originally planning to work with Carol-Ann to do the building. We go back a long way, and I remember him as a little boy who lived close to my family when I was growing up! He has his own construction business and has considerable experience. He has gone to see Amos's property and is impressed with its location and good drainage without flooding during heavy rains. I'm confident in Nelson's ability to do an excellent job and in his integrity to properly oversee and manage the project.

Because GoFundMe is not able to send funds directly to Liberia, the plan is for the money we raise to come to me, and I would then send it securely to Nelson to purchase all needed materials and pay his construction crew.
The rainy season with tropical downpours makes it difficult to build right now, but Nelson told me that October would be a good start date to aim for when the weather is more dependable.
So, my friends, would you consider helping? Thank you so very much!
