A home for Bridget & Elijah

Bridget and Elijah have been living in hotels for many years. On July 16, they were removed from the hotel room, with all of their belongings because she could not pay $400 for the next week of rent at the hotel. She had just enough money until someone hacked into her Facebook and her financials and transferred her money out of her account to themselves.
Bridget had been on a waiting list for over a year for housing, nothing ever came through. In the past two weeks, I have learned that the homeless shelters are full, hotels are full. Even though Bridget and her son do get Social Security Disability, they do not qualify for most rentals because they want to see steady employment and a monthly income 3 times the cost of rent per month.
To break this cycle for Bridget and Elijah, I have found an empty mobile home in the West Shore/Cedar Cliff school district. There is a bus to take Elijah to and from school.
It needs work, but, nothing that a few of us couldn’t do quickly. The owner of the trailer park wants $4,700 for it, $3,300 down. I want offer a total of $3,000 because it needs a water heater, new electrical panel, fridge, stove, carpeting and a new bathtub.
I want to see Elijah have a great Senior year. I want Elijah to have the chance to live in a place that is theirs and nobody can ever tell them they must leave. I want that for both of them. I am willing to give of my time and energy to do this. I just do not have money to support my dream for them.
