Assisted Living For Isabella Rooks

On October 2nd, 2018, my best friend, Isabella Rooks, life changed forever. What started as shoulder and back pain in the morning led to the inability to breathe on her own and paralysis from the neck down in the span of two hours. To this day, doctors are still unsure what caused this sudden onset of paralysis. The most likely cause is a disease called Transverse Myelitis; an inflammation of the spinal cord which interrupts the messages that the spinal cord nerves send throughout the body.
Isabella has come an incredibly long way and now has some motor function in her right hand/arm, more trunk control, and can breath on her own. The main goal is to start walking again.
The last two years have been incredibly rough and tiring to put it mildly; I would use more colorful language but that's not going to benefit anyone.
Currently, Bella does not have stable housing. That is not something you want to worry about when what you should be thinking about is your health. There is an incredible facility called The Legacy House in Las Vegas that provides everything that Bella will need in order to gain some of her independence back. They provide around the clock assistance and an apartment that she can call her own. She would also be able to come and go as she pleases for her ongoing physical therapy, doctors appointments, and visiting family and friends.
All the money raised will go directly towards her rent and anything she needs to provide a comfortable living situation. $60K is worth one year's worth of rent including a little bit extra for transportation and groceries.
We will continue to post updates with how Bella is doing and specific costs of everything so we are transparent to where your support is going, like rent and PT.
The past two years have been tumultuous, but there has always been hope and we can't thank you enough for that.
