A home for Marvellous Menagerie

Tax deductible
From the age of 10, at that time unbeknownst to me, I began telling my parents I wanted a rescue. I described it as a farm where no body was killed and everyone was loved and had a name. I had no specific ideas about the types of animals I wanted to rescue at that time, but once I began my first job in rescue, working with captive-bred foxes, I quickly knew I wanted to help with the chronic and increasing issue of pet foxes being irresponsibly taken on and to bring attention to the plague of fur farms; which are still horribly abundant in the United States. I also have such a passion for cats and the plight of homeless, feral and community cats in desperate need of TNR and care.

My plans for exactly when I would start this rescue were taken out of my hands when my first fox, Ianto (Yan-toh), came into my life. He was a 3 week old blue arctic fox, rescued from a fur farm; the only survivor of his litter. He was terrified and had injuries on his shoulder and below his eye. We bonded immediately and the Marvellous Menagerie was born.

In 2023 alone we rescued 30 cats and kittens and had to say no to so many more. In 2022 we rescued 3 foxes; all pet surrenders, two of whom came from awful neglect and abuse situations. We complete adoptions as quickly as we can, but the simple fact is that we simply don’t have the room to save more.

I NEED YOUR HELP

I currently have two full time jobs, along side running the Menagerie, because I am desperate to purchase a suitable property where we can bring all our residents together and expand into it, helping more foxes and cats as we grow. Presently, our fox residents are an hour and a half away from my home, which leaves the majority of the day-to-day care to a dear friend. It also means I am full until we move. We cannot even think of beginning our TNR program until we have this property.

We have been given the opportunity of an incredible gift - an anonymous and incredibly kind and generous donor is willing to match up to $30,000 for a deposit for the Menagerie's forever home. I'm giving all the spare money I have for the animals and toward a deposit, but it just isn't enough and it isn't enough, quickly enough.

I know times are hard, but I have to ask for your help, for the animals I care for currently, and the ones who will need a safe place to land.

Please, please help me help foxes and cats in need; there are so many more every year.

You can donate or share and we're a 501c3 so all donations are tax deductible.

More information about Marvellous Menagerie: Our mission is to provide neonatal kittens, captive-bred, non-releasable wildlife and domestic animals a sanctuary to live, heal and grow; whilst also educating the public on spay/neuter programs and the cruelty behind fur and factory farming.
