A home to return to

As family and friends know my cousin Aimee’s daughter Ella, was diagnosed in July 2022 with Acute lymphoblastic leukemia and a mediastinal mass (tumour in her chest).
Aimee and Ella were immediately airlifted from Canberra to The Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick for treatment. Her dad, Richard, and siblings followed.
Ella has had numerous complications on this horrendous journey with numerous infections, long hospital stays and a scary period in ICU.
Ella had been in remission for a little while and was completing her intense chemo regime to ensure the cancer stayed gone!
Devastatingly after a routine CT scan - on the 13th of April 2023 the family found out Ella had relapsed and her cancer was back (in the form of T-cell lymphomas in various regions of her body).
Not only were prognosis numbers scary to hear, Ella was now in the high risk category.
At the end of October 2023 scans showed an increase in tumours. Treatment Ella
was having stopped as it was not working.
Ella’s pain is being managed and her parents and siblings are spending as many moments together as they can holding space for her.
They are devastated, scared, anxious, angry, hurting and a mess!
The family gave up their rental home in August last year and currently do not have a home to return to.
This GoFundMe has been created to help organise a home for the family to return to in Canberra and give them a few months paid rent so they have time to process, resettle and adjust to life back in Canberra.
The family are overwhelmed with gratitude for all the financial and emotional support family, friends and the wider community have provided and can’t thank you all enough.
