A journey in hope of healing for Caroline Nunan

We are reaching out to share our beloved Caroline’s journey and to seek your support in helping her undergo an experimental stem cell treatment for Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

Since 2011, at the age of 30, Caroline has been battling MS, a chronic illness that has affected her mobility, independence, and overall quality of life. Alongside MS, she also faces several comorbidities, including Cardiomyopathy, Raynaud's Disease, and Osteoporosis, which further complicate her health and daily living.

Despite numerous health challenges, Caroline has always maintained a fighting spirit and a positive outlook. However, the toll of her condition—physically, emotionally, and financially—has been immense. Since her diagnosis, her mobility has declined from walking unaided to relying on a wheelchair, while less visible symptoms such as extreme fatigue, bladder issues, and swallowing difficulties remain some of the most challenging.

With no further treatment options available in Australia, this experimental treatment offers Caroline hope for significantly improving her quality of life.

The Challenges

MS is a debilitating disease that affects the central nervous system, leading to symptoms such as fatigue, mobility issues, and cognitive challenges. In addition, Caroline battles comorbidities that further impact her health:

Cardiomyopathy – A condition that weakens the heart’s ability to pump blood, causing fatigue and shortness of breath.

Raynaud's Disease – A disorder that constricts blood flow to the extremities, causing pain and discomfort during cold weather or stress.

Osteoporosis – An increased risk of fractures, severely limiting her mobility and affecting her daily life.

The Treatment

Recent advancements in stem cell therapy present a potentially transformative treatment option for individuals suffering from MS and its related conditions. This experimental procedure aims to repair damaged cells and rebuild the immune system, offering the possibility of improved health and a better quality of life.

Unfortunately, this treatment is not covered by insurance, and the costs are substantial. We are determined to raise $80,000 to cover the expenses associated with Caroline’s treatment, travel, and recovery.
