A Kidney for Tori
Donación protegida
Tori McCoy is a 19 year old young woman from Champaign, IL who is currently a Golden Eagle power forward at Marquette University. For months she felt extreme fatigue but thought it was simply due to being a student athlete. On Dec 6, 2017, Tori became very ill &
was admitted to Aurora Sinai Medical Center. The next day she was diagnosed with Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), a rare kidney disease. The doctors were hopeful that dialysis would help but after finding 80% damage to both of her kidneys, they determined there was no other choice but a transplant. Quite a shock to us all, since she is an athlete in otherwise excellent physical health!
While she will still be able to play basketball and go to school, she will need 4 hour dialysis treatments 3 times a week until she receives a new kidney. This is a lot for a young woman to endure alone! Since she is so far away from home, her mother will be staying in Milwaukee with her until she is well, leaving only her father's income to pay the medical bills. We are asking for donations to give her family relief from the medical expenses.
Blessed with great talent, skill and a dedicated work ethic, Tori has already acheived the McDonald All American, Jordan All American, 2 time All State All Area (just to name a few) & led her high school team to compete for the State Championship 2 years in a row, placing 2nd & then 1st! She is highly intelligent and accomplished so it is clear Tori has an extremely bright future ahead of her! She & her family will not forget those who helped them in their time of great need. Please consider sending whatever you can, whenever you can, including all the prayers you can!
Our deepest gratitude in advance,
