A Light for Lisa: Beating Breast Cancer Together

In the weeks leading up to her 42nd birthday, my sister Lisa assumed that her next year of life would be just as good as the last.

But in September 2023, that assumption was turned upside down by a diagnosis of triple-negative breast cancer.

And though we're all grateful that the cancer hasn't spread, the tumor's size and aggressive nature means she has to endure a full 24 rounds of chemo.

Followed by major surgery.

Then six months of radiation.

This long and challenging road is enough to deal with as it is.

But as the bills from doctors, tests, specialists, and treatments have started to pile up, the added financial stress is taking its toll.
