A Liver for Livi

Our little granddaughter, Olivia, needs a liver. She was born with a condition that does not allow her to process protein. For seven years her parents and doctors have managed her condition with diet and medications. Everyone needs protein to grow, but Olivia's body can't get rid of the ammonia that results from the digestive process. The result is ammonia collecting in her brain which is fatal unless corrected.

During the past year, it has been harder to control. She has been in and out of the hospital nearly every month or more. Her doctors have approved Olivia for a liver transplant which will rectify this condition. She was just placed on the liver transplant list today! (May 9, 2023)

We believe that the cost of the operation will be covered by insurance, however, there will be costs associated with travel, hotels, and meals for her parents for a couple of months.

Any help will go a long way to defray the extra expenses and the stress that Olivia's parents and siblings will face in the coming months.
