A Loving Goodbye for James P. Mills funeral services

Donation protected
My name is Karen Mills, the sister of James P. Mills. I'm raising money to help pay for cremation and funeral services for my brother James. We unfortunately lost him on December 17, 2024, right before Christmas. James was born on November 27, 1965, and went to Poway High School. James was an avid ancestry researcher and enjoyed tracing family roots. He traced our own family tree back to 1816, and he often helped others research their families as a hobby. He also enjoyed video gaming and working on puzzles. Every year, he enjoyed Christmas and liked being Santa Claus for our family, not dressing up, but getting everyone what they asked for. His presence was very missed this Christmas, and Christmas will never be the same for our family.

Our mother is still alive, and I currently care for her. She is 82 years old and unfortunately has Lewy Body Dementia and took the loss of her son pretty hard. I'm struggling a bit trying to care for her and now take care of my brother's belongings and funeral services. I also had to put one of our dogs down a few days before losing my brother Jim. We made it through Christmas, and now I have to continue cleaning out his apartment. The stress of everything has been pretty intense for me, and I have never faced this before. I feel pulled in so many directions, but life still marches forward, and I'm reaching out and asking for any donations so I can pay for the cremation services and reduce my own stress during this process. I myself have some of my own disabilities, which makes things a little tricky for me while dealing with so many things at the same time. The cost of cremation has increased since our own father passed, and I find myself struggling to find the funding for everything required to cremate Jim and give him a little service of remembrance. Please donate whatever you can, even though I know everyone is struggling to get by. If you can donate even 10 dollars, it will all add up and really help reduce my stress and give my brother a proper goodbye and service. Poway rancho Bernardo mortuary is where I'm getting this cremation done at, if you think this is a scam you can easily check and see that James p Mills, my brother, did infact pass away. I'm the one who found him as I was accompanied by my mom, Jim's mom. We had called Escondido police to do a welfare check and I was able to get in my brother's apartment first. So it was a shocking experience to find my brother had passed away on his couch at some point during the night. I've lost two brothers now and only have one brother left. The mortuary has his ashes but I don't have enough money to get him back yet so this is why I created this GoFundMe. I'm not always good at asking for help but I truly need it and I'm asking for any help anyone can offer and all donated funds go directly to mortuary towards this unexpected expense of loosing my brother suddenly. I'm dealing with my own personal disabilities which physically limit my activities and I am carrying for my 82yr old mom with dementia while trying to get my brothers affair's taken care of. We will be posting an obituary asap in union tribune. So if you can find in your heart to donate whatever you can my family appreciates it very much and thank you for taking the time to read this and donate to Jim's cremation fund.
