A Marathon in Memory of Maria

My mother, Maria, passed away from breast cancer nearly 25 years ago. She was diagnosed at the age of 35, the same age I am today. The cancer spread to other parts of her body a few years later, and she passed away shortly after.

I remember thinking that there would be a cure for cancer by the time I was her age. But sadly, there isn't. That's why I'm running a marathon to raise money for Susan G. Komen.
