A Memorial Fund for Rod Habon

It is with great sadness I share the news our brother and friend, Rod Habon, passed away on Tuesday morning, September 10, 2024. Rod's viewing, rosary, celebration of life, and funeral details are still being sorted out by the immediate family and will be updated on this post as the dates and times are confirmed.

My name is Brian Billones and I have been a friend of the Habon family since Rod, Allan, and I were in our high school years. Rod enjoyed so many things in life. Some of his passions included photography, music, cars, and exercising his 2nd amendment rights (LOL). Ask him about any of these things and brace yourself for an hours-long conversation! In my own experiences with Rod, he was always such a genuinely kind person whose true passion was his family and friends.

No matter how much time had passed since I had last seen him, Rod had this way of listening to you and making you feel like you were the most important person in the world to him. He had a keen interest in whatever interested you. When Rod spoke, he spoke with a vested interest in the conversation. He cared about the things going on in your life. He enjoyed hearing about family, mutual friends, how business was going, etc. Last but not least, Rod would be the first person to drop everything going on in his life to help out those around him. He was extremely unselfish. Rod carried himself with the highest amount of integrity, humility, and generosity.

Those of us who have had to plan for funeral services know how expenses add up very quickly. Uncle Roger, Allan, and RJ have NO IDEA that I started this page ... I know that they would not want anyone to feel obligated to contribute to what they know to be their responsibility: laying Rod to rest. I know there are many in our community who would want to reciprocate the same generous and selfless spirit Rod shared with me and everyone around him. In honor of Rod, please donate what you feel led to, any amount helps! ALL funds raised will go to help cover Rod's service costs and expenses.
