Memorial Marker & Family Journey to Texas Cemetery

Donation protected

Stacy Gallin Libenson lost her husband, Rob in a horrific traffic accident in Midland, Texas nearly 10 years ago.

After closing their family business, she was forced to relocate back to the LA area to seek treatment for her own injuries and to restart her life with her young daughter, Jessica. It has not been easy. Our friend and USY alumna continues to suffer from physical and emotional trauma. Stacy's passion in life was helping others as a physical therapist. Even though she has a Master's in physical therapy, to this day she has been unable to work.

As a result, she has not been able to devote any funds to the placement of a memorial stone on her beloved husband's grave. This fact plagues our friend. She feels guilty that her husband's grave remains unmarked and has not been visited. She simply cannot afford the marker and the trip to visit him.

As an added burden, Stacy successfully fought cancer--but continues to suffer from neuropathy. Unfortunately she has been denied disability, yet can't afford a private attorney to fight the appeal. If anyone knows of a disability attorney who would take her case pro bono, please let one of the campaign organizers know.

The Mishnah teaches us "All Israel is responsible for one another." As her extended family, we ask that you help us with this holy mitzvah.

The Tree of Life Heritage Foundation, Rabbi Ben-Zion Saydman, Executive Director,  in collaboration with Rabbi Marcia Tilchin has started raising funds to cover the cost of the monument, plane tickets for Stacy and her daughter to Texas, a rental car, hotel and meals for the trip.  Our goal is to make the unveiling possible this spring. All monies raised will be administered by The Tree of Life Foundation, which is a recognized 501 (c)(3) California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation. www.tolheritage.org
