A Meter of Books will make Miles of Difference!

Together we can do it! This summer my grandsons and I will be working as volunteers with The Book Bus in Zambia. The Book Bus is working in Zambia’s schools and communities to improve child literacy by providing children with books and the inspiration to read them. I’m asking you to help me raise £1,000 to fund a One Metre Book Shelf for a school in Zambia. The One Metre Book Shelf includes over 100 brand new books that will give hundreds of children free access to fabulous books, often for the first time!

The one meter bookshelf total cost is £1000 which includes:

• Reading scheme with associated readers

• Brand new books purchased from local and other African publishers

• Posters

• Book shelf

• Book covers

• Lesson plans and teacher training to maximize use of books in the classroom.
