A Minneapolis Firefighter’s fight against Cancer.
Donation protected
Mark Lakosky is a very well-known name in the fire service. Mark is a 23-year veteran firefighter for the Minneapolis Fire Department and has been Minneapolis Fire’s Union President for 15 years. During that time, he has been an example of selfless leadership and action.
Six months ago, Mark was diagnosed with multiple Myeloma, a cancer that requires multiple treatments, medications, and a bone marrow transplant. Mark has continued to work during this time, both on the fire rigs and as union president, in order to keep up with the mounting medical costs of his cancer.
Although Mark was adamant about not asking for help, we at MFD/Local 82 believe it’s time that we step up and take some of the burden off a man who has carried the burden for us for so many years. The money raised will go towards Mark's mounting medical bills, costly treatments and allowing him to focus on getting well.
Thank you for your support of Mark Lakosky.
