A Miracle For Ashley

Ashley is our very much loved 33 year old niece and is a single mother of 3 young boys, Logan, 13, Cameron, 11, and Peyton, 6. She was diagnosed 4 years ago with a rare autoimmune disease, Guillain Barre Syndrome. She was taken by ambulance to the hospital on January 18, 2021 due to complications from her battle with this rare autoimmune disease. She was immediately admitted and the hospital began treatment. She was given pain medication as GBS can cause severe pain. She required 2 blood transfusions upon being admitted, then 10 days later, she was found unresponsive and began having multiple seizures. Due to the seizures, she required assistance breathing and was put on a ventilator. She has remained in a coma since. We are unsure as to the prognosis at this time and not sure when or if she will regain consciousness. In any event, we are looking at long term treatment for her regardless of the outcome.

Our sister, Michelle and her husband, Darren are taking care of Ashley’s 3 boys at this time and as you can imagine, that is not an easy task. Ashley’s non covered medical bills and the additional costs required in raising 3 growing boys has placed a financial burden on them. They are suffering financially due to almost a month of being unable to work as much as they used to. This has taken a toll on their finances as well as their business. Michelle and Darren are busy taking care of the 3 boys and visiting Ashley as much as they can. When they visit Ashley, they play videos of the boys, let us talk to her on speaker phone, and tell her stories to see if they are able to get any kind of response from Ashley. Ashley's days are up and down, everyday is different. She has made no progress at this point and remains unresponsive. Each day we pray that she will regain consciousness so that she can be the mother she loves being for her boys and that she will get the opportunity to see them grow into men one day.
