“A Mother & Son Need Your Support to Stay Housed”
Donation protected
My name is Shantae Peace, and I’m reaching out during a difficult and humbling season of life.
At the start of this year, I lost my job due to unforeseen circumstances beyond my control. After dedicating over four years to serving my community through nonprofit work, the transition has been incredibly hard. I initially applied for unemployment and was denied while navigating serious mental health challenges, but I’m currently back on unemployment and actively searching for stable work and pursuing higher education to create a better future for myself and my family.
I live with my 19-year-old son, who has also been deeply affected by our current reality. We’ve been through a lot together—especially since the heartbreaking loss of his father to suicide two years ago. The grief and uncertainty have taken a toll on both of us, but I continue to show up every day, doing my best to provide stability and healing for him and myself.
Right now, we are facing housing insecurity and the very real possibility of homelessness. I’m doing everything I can to stay afloat, but I can’t do it alone. I’m reaching out to ask for support to help cover basic living expenses and rent while I get back on my feet.
Your generosity, no matter the amount, will help us stay housed and give us a fighting chance to rebuild. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for supporting not just me, but a mother and son working hard to rise from a challenging chapter.
With gratitude,
