Fighting For Remi’s Quality of Life ❤️‍

Remi is a beautiful 10-month-old baby girl who has already faced many challenges in her short lifetime. Her story is one of love, resilience, and the fierce determination of a mother and of a father to give their child the best life possible.

During pregnancy with Remi, I experienced what I thought was a normal, healthy pregnancy. Our family prepared for her arrival, dreaming of the milestones we would celebrate together. However, when Remi was just 4 months old we noticed that she had poor head control and was missing other milestones. After her first MRI we were told that she had congenital brain malformation. This diagnosis has come with devastating effects— Both of her temporal lobes did not fully develop which also lead to a second diagnosis of hypotonia, meaning she has low muscle tone that makes even the simplest tasks incredibly challenging.

The first 10 months of her life have been a rollercoaster of emotions. We have navigated MRIs, EEGs, multiple Neuro Dr. Appointments, Therapy sessions and much more with even more testing to come. Remi struggles with day to day cognitive functions and motor skills. As a mother, I wish I could take away her struggles and to have her experience life like other children. Most importantly I want to see her crawl, walk, eat, play without difficulty and one day talk.

In our search for hope and healing, we have found a wonderful doctor who has given us a chance at her only medical option right now— EV stem cell therapy. This therapy has the beneficial effects of stem cells that promote tissue repair and cognitive regeneration. We believe this treatment could bridge the cognitive and motor skills gap Remi faces, providing her with the opportunity to thrive as she grows and hopefully live a somewhat normal life. The Dr. told us that now is the time If we want to give Remi a real chance.

However, this treatment comes at a significant financial cost, and it requires a long-term commitment. The first treatment alone is $10,000.
