A mother’s shattered heart

”I don’t know much longer I will have him for”… Imagine as a parent, hearing another parent saying those words in regards to the life of their child…

Hi, my name is Priya. I am starting this fundraiser unbeknownst to my friend but I am at a loss of what else to do to support her through an incredibly tough time… She has 2boys, 7 and 9…. And a few months back, her youngest was diagnosed with a neurodegenerative disorder called Friedreich Ataxia. This is a rare inherited disease that causes progressive damage to your nervous system and movement problems. Just last week, her oldest son was given the same diagnosis… and her heart has been shattered.

My dear friend will now need to take both of her boys for multiple visits to a top specialist at the Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia. There is a strong possibility that one or both may be wheelchair bound within the next 10yrs. The road that lay ahead of her and her family is an unpredictable one and will inevitably be taxing on their savings.

I am asking for your support… any amount that you would be willing to contribute would be greatly appreciated… Our kids are our hearts outside of our bodies… and the grief that comes with such diagnoses is almost too much to bear… So please consider giving to this amazing woman and her family as they begin a very difficult and unpredictable journey.
