A New Car for Brother Kevin Carter
Donation protected
For those of you who do not know Brother Kevin Carter, allow me to introduce you to him. Brother Carter is a tireless advocate and ally for and alongside our unhoused neighbors in Sacramento. Working with the Sacramento Services Not Sweeps Coalition and the Sacramento Poor People's Campaign, Brother Carter has been out visiting encampments 5-6 days a week, bringing water, food, ice in the summer, and whatever other resources he can get his hands on. Day in and day out, he loads his car down with basic survival items, builds relationships with those in the encampments, listens to their stories, makes sure that they know their rights during the pandemic, and intercedes when City and County officials try to violate those rights by sweeping through their camps.
He has made many personal sacrifices throughout the pandemic, among them being his car which now requires repairs that will cost more than the car is worth. It is time that the community comes around Brother Carter to thank him for his good work and help him continue it. Can you contribute something to help him get a new car?
Watch the video below to learn more about his work. Thank you for your generosity!
