A new home for freedom

Donation protected
Freedom day centre is a non profit community interest company, established in 2017 for adults with learning disabilities and other special needs. Freedom has gone from strength to strength and has positively influenced the lives of both our service users and the community around us. Unfortunately, we have to leave our current building that we've used for the past four years. To ensure the future of our day centre and our community cafe, we want to buy the “friends Littleton mission” meeting house in Littleton for £100,000. We are currently able to hire the building for six months and have completely renovated, making it ready for us to move into. The building is for sale and our dream is to make it our forever home. As well as Freedom day centre and cafe, we also provide other services for the community including Freedom disco, Freedom food stall and Freedom outreach. By donating to our project you will be ensuring Freedom lives on for many years to come.

What we'll deliver:
An inclusive cafe that works to fight loneliness
A day centre for adults with learning disabilities
An outreach service providing meals for vulnerable people in the community
A community food stall
A disco for adults with learning disabilities

We also work alongside local community groups such as our local church, doing gardening and helping to maintain the churchyard and Badsey first school, where we teach sign language to the children and get involved in the seasonal events with them in the village.

Why Freedom is necessary:
~There are increasingly less day services for people with learning disabilities in our area and less opportunities for them to be involved in the community. Our day centre provides a safe and welcoming environment for people with learning disabilities in the Worcestershire area, where they can learn new skills, make new friends and become more involved in the community.
~There’s also no other cafe in our area that specifically works to fight loneliness and aims to bring people within the community together. Our cafe is an inclusive cafe which means that we try to meet the needs of all our customers and offer an affordable menu so that anyone can come.
~We run an outreach service which provides meals to vulnerable people in the community for an affordable cost, people can collect their meals or have them delivered if close by.
~We also work alongside local supermarkets to create our community food stall.

We would love to be able to buy our building by July 2022, any support that you can give us would be extremely appreciated, not just by us, but by our service users and members of our local community too.

We feel it’s important to make it clear that being a non profit organisation means that if Freedom was to ever shut down one day, all of our assets, including this building would be donated to a like minded charity or organisation in our area.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read through our campaign.
