A new home for my boys

Hello everyone and thank you for taking the time to read my story, which I'd never thought I'd have to share on GoFundMe.

I am the father of two incredible boys: Carter is 9 and Braedon just turned 17.

Without sharing any details of my legal battle regarding the break up with my ex-wife and my custody arrangement with their mother, it's been a tremendous struggle.

But the boys and I are extremely close and they want to spend time with me and it's important that they do. Fortunately, I have an amicable arrangement with their mom now, but I do have to pay her child support for the boys, which is an extra burden on me monthly, but she needs my support and I make myself available to work longer hours to pay for this.

I am employed as a mechanic, but my income has dipped a bit lately while my expenses have skyrocketed with a new house that I rent in San Antonio.

Unfortunately, I was without a home for almost six months prior to moving into this house so I lived with the boys in a motel, which was not the best environment for them.

The boys love the new house. It provides them with a sense of stability and they love having bedrooms and their own beds. We're a tight knit family and at this point in my life, it's critical for me to provide them with a roof over their heads, food on the table and clothing, as well as being involved in their school lives and spending plenty of time with them in and outside of our house.

Right now, I am just trying to get through a difficult financial hump in my life. I have two months of back rent, utility bills that must be paid and sometimes some inexpensive childcare. And as they boys are growing, there is always the expense of clothing, but luckily I'm a good shopper.

I am so thankful to have a home for me and my boys and staying here is so important for them. Fortunately, they don't know that their dad is stressed because of the bills and in the back of mind, I fear the worst: an eviction, which would be terrible for them.
