A New Life for Mr. Robert & Ms. Roxy

I am begging for help for Mr. Robert & Ms. Roxy.

Mr.Robert is 69 years old, has cancer, a colostomy bag and lives on the streets with his best friend in the whole world, Ms. Roxy. When I approached Mr. Robert and asked if he'd allow me to help them, the only thing he asked for was more glucosamine chondroitin for Ms. Roxy.

I sat and talked with him for a while, life is very hard for him out in the 90+ degree Florida heat, especially with his illnesses. He could go to a shelter, but that would mean abandoning his best girl and that is something he just refuses to do. Mr. Robert's shopping cart is filled with dog toys, dog food and a dog bed, you can see how much she means to him. Ms. Roxy loves him too, she just beams with love when she looks at him - she is a happy girl.

Mr. Robert cried as he expressed his worry that someone would take her from him or he would become too sick to care for her - they are all each other has. Ms. Roxy also needs medical care, up-to-date shots and flea/heartroom prevention. My immediate hope is that we can get them into an extended stay hotel as soon as possible, so we can get them both medical care. From there, we plan to work on getting Mr. Robert's birth certificate/license so he can get access to his social security and into a home for them both.

WE DID IT! They are finally safe and off the streets! I can’t express the gratitude felt by these two sweet souls! Mr.Robert & Ms.Roxy have been placed in an extended stay until a permanent home can be found for them together. Ms.Roxy has been to the vet and received all of her care and is now fully up-to/date. Thank you all!
