UPDATE 8/18:
We’d like to mahalo everyone that has shared and donated to our family. Words truly cannot express how grateful we are for a loving and generous community. Hāweo + Ana and all of their ‘ohana from Lāhainā are recovering and healing just like everyone else is who has been impacted from this unforeseen disaster. We appreciate all the love shared to our family. We love you all.

Aloha,
As some of you may know we along with many other families have had a trying 48 hours or so since the Lāhaina fires started. Our youngest and only brother Hāweookalani was separated from his fiancé when they first started the evacuations. We desperately, like many others, did our best to try and find our brother and the rest of her family that she got separated from over the next 24 hours. With the fires devastating our historical Lāhaina, phone lines/service down, and the one road out of Lāhaina being swamped with traffic, news and videos appearing showing the reality of the situation, we were starting to fear the worst.
We are so grateful that after a grueling, stressful, and agonizing 24 hours after the Lāhaina fires started, our brother was located - stranded in Kahana due to having no gas and phone service. Mahalo everyone who reached out and offered to help, words cannot express how truly grateful we are and we recognize how extremely lucky we are that my brother, and all of his fiancés family (both of her parents+step parents, sister+husband, and all of their kids) were able to make it out safely.
Like many others, my brother and his Lāhaina family lost their two houses with all of their family and childhood keepsakes, and have also been displaced like thousands of others with no clear answers in sight at this time. They were only able to make it out with the clothes on their backs. We mahalo everyone who has reached out to us to offer clothing donations in person, and at this time we as a family are doing our best to put out efforts to assist all families that we know of in need with clothing, meaʻai, and basic essentials. We are continuing to sort through the items received so far and to distribute to others soon too.
We would be so grateful if you could take the time to first - pray for all those who are affected by this terrible event and to reach out to them individually if you can. Secondly, if you could share this post to help us to reach our goal, we would appreciate it. It is hard for them to ask for any help, so we are doing this on behalf of them. We are so grateful for any monetary assistance received through this campaign that will go 100% to rebuilding their homes, and everything they worked so hard to earn.
Mahalo nui for your kindness, generosity, thoughts & prayers, and for being in our lives in any way big or small. We love you all and words cannot express how grateful we are for your kōkua.
