A New Start for Keith After Fire Took His Apt
Donation protected
On the afternoon of June 1, 2021 there was a major fire in our apartment building on Chester Ave in West Philly. The fire spread from an adjacent apartment into Keith Blackwell’s apartment. As a result, our compassionate and fiercely independent neighbor Keith lost most of his possessions and his apartment.
We – his neighbors - are raising money to help him get back on his feet. West Philly born and raised, Keith has been a resident in the building for 10 years. Keith is a social worker who spends his life helping people. Now he needs our help! Keith has found temporary housing, and thanks to generous donations from the community he has basic furnishings, but he has lost a lot and needs funds to help him get back on his feet. Please consider supporting him as he rebuilds and resettles after this traumatic episode.
Our neighbors have been supportive of us in this crisis in so many ways: bringing us water during the fire; stopping to check on our welfare and the welfare of our pets; offering us temporary housing after the fire. We know how generous our community can be - Thank you in advance for donating to this deserving individual and for sharing on social media!

We plan to close this fundraiser on Friday, June 25 as Keith needs these resources ASAP.
