A New Start for Nada's Family

Greetings, I'm Nada Fares, a 32-year-old psychologist hailing from Gaza, Palestine. Within the confines of this war-torn region, I strive to provide for my two beloved children, Hanan Fares, aged 8, and Sameh Fares, aged 6.
In the photo I share, you'll see the radiant smiles of my children, a testament to the resilience we've cultivated amidst our modest yet cherished abode in Gaza. Our journey has been one of relentless determination over the past 12 years, where every dawn to dusk is marked by unwavering toil and perseverance. Despite the adversities we face and the precariousness of our circumstances, we've managed to carve out a life we once deemed attainable, a life now teetering on the brink of impossibility.
OUR STORY
The agonizing truth is that we've been stripped of everything we held dear. Yes, everything. Our once-beautiful home, brimming with cherished memories, now stands as a hollow shell of its former self. Our livelihoods, our aspirations – all lost in the merciless tide of conflict. With nothing but a meager bag of belongings, we were forced to flee, leaving behind the vestiges of our existence, from the grandest of possessions to the minutest of mementos.
Since October 7, our nomadic existence has led us through over five different shelters, each more desolate than the last, devoid of even the most basic necessities of life.
My daughter, Hanan, should have been embarking on her third-grade journey, yet the ravages of war robbed her of this fundamental right, her school reduced to rubble. My heart aches to witness her endure the psychological scars of trauma, her innocence overshadowed by the horrors she has witnessed.
As for my son, Sameh, the anticipation of his first day of school was eclipsed by the onset of conflict, leaving his educational aspirations deferred. He yearns to reclaim the semblance of normalcy, to partake in the simple joys of childhood, oblivious to the cruel reality of his disrupted education.
Moreover, Sameh grapples with chronic gastrointestinal ailments, necessitating specialized care and dietary restrictions. However, amidst the chaos of war, our ability to procure essential provisions has been compromised, exacerbating his suffering.
HOW WILL YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS BE UTILIZED?
Your generosity will serve as a beacon of hope, reigniting our fervor for a fresh start. With your support, my children can once again set foot in a classroom, reclaiming the education that was unjustly snatched away from them.
We implore your assistance in securing the basic necessities of life – a safe and dignified shelter, educational opportunities for my children, and the means to afford essential supplies and attire.
After months of enduring the indescribable hardships of our reality, we yearn for a semblance of normalcy, a life free from the clutches of adversity.
To our compassionate supporters, we extend our sincerest gratitude. Know that your generosity will not be taken for granted; it is the lifeline that sustains our hope amidst despair.
With heartfelt thanks,
Nada, Hanan, and Sameh
