A Parents Worst Nightmare - Children with Cancer

 

Brothers and sisters, friends and family. My 87 brothers and I have opened a GoFundMe to help one of our fellow brothers get help with some very costly medical bills. George and his wife Jenna have two small children, Mila, who is 8, and Niko, 7, dealing with some health issues of the worst kind. In Mila's case, cancer.

 

The good news is that both children are doing well in treatment. The bad news is that the out-of-pocket expenses will be very high. George and Jenna work for people giving them everything they need in terms of time off and support to get the children through their respective treatments but his brothers and I want to help raise money to defray the ever-increasing out of pocket costs of the children’s treatment.

 

First, some more good news. Niko is going to get his tumor removed shortly. The doctors believe it is benign. The bad news is that Mila’s cancer has been diagnosed as Osteosarcoma. She is through 3 rounds of chemotherapy and so far is doing better than expected. However, she is facing surgery, in large part due to the aggressive nature of this cancer. The surgeons engaged in her treatment will do everything they can to minimize the damage.

 

We are setting the dollar amount low because I promise that every contribution will make a difference to this family, no matter how small. 

 

More important than money, though, please pray for the family. Mila and Niko are wonderful children and so much more brave than any we have ever known.
