A permanent space for Nadine's Kitchen

Donation protected
Nadine's Kitchen is a soul food operation owned by singer & chef Grace Love. Grace employs 4 prep cooks & 1 counter person while operating as a pop-up restaurant, caterer and provider of YMCA kid meals. Imagine what she could do for this community with a brick & mortar space of her own! Let's get real though- purchasing an existing business or outfitting a commercial space with proper equipment takes serious cash. Bank financing for entrepreneurs is a joke. Community sourced capital is where it's at. Nadine's Kitchen is a Black woman owned business that Port Townsend is incredibly lucky to have here. Nadine's Kitchen has taken many forms throughout the years: from the Jefferson County Farmer's Market to most recently a tenant at the phenomenal Lila's Kitchen. These experiences served to solidify Grace's dream of having her own space so she can take a deep breath and truly get to work. Grace is the most ethical, hardworking & loving boss I've ever had. And OH to be able to listen to her sing while she stirs the soup.  It's a spiritual experience.  Grace and her team are constantly highlighting ingredients from local farms. They make the best vegan sub ever. Grace is always stretching the definition of soul food to mean just about anything that comforts you, nourishes you & brightens your day. Don't worry though-there's plenty of fried chicken,  grits, & collard greens for everyone.

Message from Grace:
My journey to this part of my life hasn’t been rainbows. I made a record last year that I was so proud of then COVID changed my entire process. I went back to my first love, cooking. Reality hit- how am I going to be and do the best that I can so that my child is proud and that the people who believe in me don’t lose faith. Without reliving last year and the reorganization it did on my small business I want appeal to your good nature. Nadine’s kitchen started as a dinner and a show- with the concept of getting people together to fellowship with one another even if they’ve just met. We can’t accommodate that right now due to COVID but I still want to encourage a positive interaction with good food. I have been looking for a space for Nadine's in Port Townsend for quite some time  but have hit roadblocks with high rents and financing. I am looking for a space that can transform how Nadine’s Kitchen operates whether it is a high visibility brick and mortar location downtown or a  food truck or something entirely new remains to be seen.

With our own space we can accomplish the following:

Prep for catering & pop up events
Product line production
Storage space
Office space
Retail space for the Soul Biscuit line
Potential seating for customers in the future
Peace of mind
and so much more

To move this into the right direction I am asking that you contribute $20 or more and I will happily send you my biscuit mix as a token of my appreciation if you would like. My goal is 1000 bags for the year but if we can exceed that timeline that would be incredible as we have a couple amazing spaces available that we’d like to pursue.

I will not fail with a proper foundation.

Thank you for following along I look forward to feeding you soon!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Grace Love
