A pilgrimage for Palestine
Donation protected
Poet/Playwright Peter Oswald will walk from Bristol to London over ten days, supported by the Bristol Palestine Alliance and the Hands Up Project. In solidarity with the Palestinians and in respect for Muslims worldwide, I will fast between sunrise and sunset on these ten days, which coincide with Ramadan. In my stopping places I'll take part in poetry performances with local poets, speaking a mixture of my own work about Palestine and poetry by young Palestinians. I wish to march in celebration of Islamic culture and against Islamophobia. This is a peace march, I believe peace cannot come until all voices are heard. I will call through the soles of my feet to the soul of Britain, which I believe can be a force for freedom. Funds raised will go to The Hands Up project, an educational charity that links volunteer teachers around the world with schoolchildren in Gaza. Your donations will go towards supporting the Hands up Project’s 5 Stories Alive centres in northern Gaza https://youtu.be/0r7knbhAXLo
and our educational space in Cairo for children who have managed to get out of Gaza https://youtu.be/8Y8iEHnFsOM. In space rental, equipment and teachers salaries, this costs us in the region of £4000 a month.
