A place to ride for families inTownsville

Yes … a place to go ride! We need your help though.

We often see posts and talk to people about where to ride that is legal and safe. We finally have a great place for everyone at Reid River Ride Park which is roughly 40 mins from the CBD. It is a privately owned and operated motorbike riding area and is over 1,000 acres.

Charters Towers Council has approved this, and it is all set up ready for singles and families in a noncompetitive environment open to all ages with just one hurdle to go. The Park boasts great camping areas, hot and cold showers and toilets to make for a great family weekend. Council is requiring an onsite sewerage treatment works at a cost of $26,000. We need to make this happen.

If 2600 families put in $10 in return for one free entry to a come and try day , we would raise $26,000 with little impact to anyone. We have set up a go fund me page and for all these people interested in riding, we truly would appreciate any donation big or small to help the families of Townsville region enjoy a fantastic facility.

There is great natural terrain for the little ones, where Mum or Day can supervise . This area would suit peewees up to 65’5. For the rest there are 5 great tracks that have been cut in all for different riding abilities. From beginner to expert with the longest taking an expert 40mins to complete the circuit.

Having these two areas means that seniors are not mixing with juniors helping to keep everyone safe. This Park is not sponsored by bike shops not is it a club. It is finally a simple, legal area for families to come and have fun, not be competitive and enjoy the day or camp the weekend for a very small price.

2022 Fees will be $100 for a full family to camp and ride for the weekend or $50 for a single day.

So please Townsville, dig deep, donate $10 (or more if you can) and lets get this sewerage treatment works completed so we can open the gates. On donation we will email your come and try voucher so you can appreciate the great park that is all about families.
