A plan for Planned Parenthood
Donation protected
Hi there, my name is Raevv’n Leedham. I am a 21 year old woman living in Toronto, ON Canada.
On November 8th 2016 the world - in my, and many others opinion - came to a halt. Donald Trump was elected as the 45th President of the United States of America and people all over the world have been mourning since. Now it is time to do a little something, and spark that fire in our bellies. On December 16th at Riverdale Immigrant Women’s Centre I will be hosting a fundraiser in which all proceeds are donated to Planned Parenthood in the states. It is no surprise that a government being led by Trump and Pence will do everything in their power to make it beyond difficult for Planned Parenthood to provide their services that have helped so many of us in times of need. They themselves have made this crystal clear. The night of the 16th will be a night of photography, paintings, spoken word, art installations, music, and much more inspired by the US election and how it's left us feeling. We are raising money to help protect our right to choose. We are raising money to remind our friends, families, and loved ones (especially those living in the states) that we will stand in solidarity with them. We will use our voice as artists to help raise awareness. Planned Parenthood is there for EVERYONE: People of all colour, the LGBTQ+ community, kids, adults, males, and females. This evening EVERYONE will be welcome to enjoy some beautiful art, and to be surrounded by people who want to make this world a better and more accepting place.
This GoFundMe page is for those of you who support the cause but won't be able to make it on December 16th. Anything helps, a little goes a long way. The $10,000 is a overall total goal of the funds that we accumulate via this page as well as from the art show. Thank you for listening.
Lots of love,
Raevv'n
