A Plea for John B

In the winter of 2014, John Baldauff, a loving husband, father of four and grandfather of two and native of Dunmore, Pa, was scheduled for pre-admission testing for minor surgery.  This testing revealed some challenging news.  Doctors discovered that the results of John’s bloodwork showed an elevated protein level, known as smoldering myeloma.  In the spring of 2016, unfortunately, his bloodwork confirmed that the smoldering myeloma evolved into multiple myeloma or plasma cell myeloma, the third most common blood cancer (after lymphoma and leukemia) in the United States.  John is now preparing himself for an autologous transplant, a type of stem cell transplant in which he will receive high-doses of chemotherapy with autologous stem cell rescue. This will require an extended hospital stay in Philadelphia.

This Go Fund Me account will take some of the financial burdens off of John and his family’s shoulders.  It is anticipated that John will be spending both Thanksgiving and Christmas (and perhaps longer) in the hospital as he fights this disease.  Please send John your positive thoughts love and prayers!!
