Amidst the relentless conflict in Gaza, Lubna and Udai's home was destroyed by shelling, forcing them to seek shelter in a flimsy tent that barely protects them from the elements.
Now in her second trimester, Lubna is struggling without access to proper prenatal care.
"I am suffering from fatigue and a severe lack of vitamins due to the shortage of food and clean water, not to mention the severe depression I'm experiencing because of the constant anxiety and stress," she confides.
The tent they currently call home is "very cold in winter and will be hot and deadly in summer" – no expectant mother or newborn should have to face such dire conditions.
We are racing against time to raise $12,000 by July 1st to cover the costs for Lubna, Udai, and their unborn child to cross the border into Egypt – their only hope for escape, as Gaza lacks an airport. Every moment counts as we strive to ensure Lubna can safely travel before her baby's arrival.
