A proper burial for Pete Rosario
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Gilissa and it is with grief and saddness that we reach out to our community of family and friends to support us during this difficult time. I am raising funds to provide the proper burial/memorial service for my father, Pete Rosario due to his sudden passing on 6/7/2023. We are all devastated by Pete’s loss and were not prepared for the high cost of a funeral service. We want to give Pete the memorial he deserves, to honor his memory and say our last goodbyes. Pete was an amazing son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, significant other, and friend who will be missed more than words can describe. He leaves behind his sister: Jackie Ortiz, signifcant other: Giselle Figueroa, children: Janelle Rosario, Gilissa Rosario, Jeremy Rosario, Giovanni Rosario, and Manuel Alicea, grandchildren: Jaelynn Rosario, Gabriella Pryor, Kaighlani Rosario, Jasleene Rosario, Jenalyse Rosario, Jelena Rosario, Caydence Rosario, and Elias Rosario, plenty of family and friends.
My father was well known in his community and anyone that he came in contact with for his genuine soul, give you the shirt of his back, and funny/out-going personality. He had such a passion for people and helping them in any way that he can. Whether it was to provide a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, provide up-lifting encouraging words, have a great time, or even make you laugh with one of his infamous punchline jokes that you'd never forget. On his free time he enjoyed working on his car (that was his baby lol), riding through the city, meeting up with family/friends to enjoy life, or even assisting the homeless with a quick meal. On any given day you'd probably catch him in the Bronx with his car club Team Step Off just enjoying the weather, laughing, listening to music, fixing his car, and creating memories. He had a love for technology and always had the newest gadgets that came out. He absolutely loved facetiming his grandkids. They were the apple of his eye. He was a man of God and always thanked God for all of his blessings even during his trying times. My father overcame and battled many serious health conditions. He spent many countless days/nights as he was back and forth from the hospital, but even during those times he ALWAYS found a way to smile, keep in contact with everyone, and turn his pain into purpose..sometimes even laughter! You'd never be able to tell because he always made sure to be there to love and support everyone around him. Family, friends, and community was so IMPORTANT to my father. Thank goodness for the age of the internet with social media and even video calling. lol He made sure to keep in contact with everyone! They say it takes a village, but in this case, a community. I know times are rough for all of us financially so I'm reaching out and asking for your assistance so we can provide my father with the proper funeral that truly honors him. Any amount of donations will help, even providing loving words/support. Thank you to everyone in advance! God bless you all!
I am currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of Pete’s funeral. We need to raise $20,000 by 6/23/2023 in order to be able to afford the funeral service.
I will continue to provide updates here with the funeral details as we get everything finalized. I will also be creating a slideshow during the funeral service. We invite you to send any pictures or videos to [email redacted] as we would love to share them. Thank you all again from the bottom of our hearts!
