A Quiet Space to Make Magic In

Those of you who have been following my production updates over the years may be familiar with the fact that it's gotten progressively harder and harder for me to produce ASMR videos in the environment that I live in.

From a practical, external perspective, I live in a city, in an area that's been developing rapidly over the past few years. The volume, frequency, and variety of environmental noises picked up by my microphones (cars, air traffic, loud neighbors, anxious dogs) has become more and more pervasive, even during what used to be the "safe-to-film" hours between 1AM and 4AM. From a more personal perspective, I'm 38 years old, with 3 young children, recently separated, with a long history of health problems. To be clear, I *love* my life, and have SO MUCH to be thankful for, but I'm tired. The long-term effect of pulling all-nighters to film content, only to often finish the night with no usable footage due to interruptions from outside (and sometimes from my kids), has taken a toll on me. I continue to be deeply passionate about making ASMR content, and I'm determined to make it work, but I need to find a way to be able to film content in a quiet space during daytime hours.

So I'm buying a $6,000 soundproof booth. This is something I've been considering for years, but I'm only just now surrendering to the necessity of it after spending a LOT of time and money trying out a lot of other alternatives. This booth is my last, best chance to be able to make regular ASMR content, and I decided there's no way I could walk away from my dreams for this channel if I haven't tried absolutely everything.

***I want to emphasize that I'm going to find a way to buy this booth no matter what, even if not a single penny is donated.*** I don't want anyone to feel like they're donating under the threat of losing my content. I don't want anyone who's not in a comfortable position to donate, or who doesn't feel enthusiastic about donating, to feel pressured to give money. And I don't want anyone to feel like I will be resentful or sad as a result of people not donating. It's okay! I love you all and I'm so grateful for you, no matter what. The simple fact that you watch my videos means the world to me, and it's a beautiful way to support me all on its own.

Having said that, paying for this booth IS a significant financial challenge for me, and I would be grateful for any contributions that anyone wants to pass along to ease the way for me.

As a thank you to all those who donate, and as a daily reminder of gratitude for me, I'm planning to affix a list of the names of everyone who contributed to one of the external walls of the booth. Every time I step into that booth to create something new, I want to be reminded of the people who participated in this push to get it there.
