Creating a Sacred Space for Families: Our Vision for 100 Acres of Land

Mewinzha Ondaadiziike Wiigaming is an organization that is committed to promoting health and wellness in our community. We have built strong relationships over the years and have impacted four generations of birthing families. Our community members, volunteers, board members, and staff have all played a vital role in achieving our goals, and we are proud of the work we have done so far.

Looking ahead, our aim is to establish a permanent home for Mewinzha Ondaadiziike Wiigaming. We want to expand our services and location to support a sacred space where families can gather, learn, and grow together on the path to mino-biimaadiziiwin (Live well, have good health, and lead a good life). It is our hope that this space will enable us to continue our mission of promoting community health and wellness for generations well into the future.

To achieve our vision, we are looking to acquire 100 acres of land where we can build walking trails, space for water and fire teachings, teaching lodges, ceremony spaces, wellness and movement spaces, and cultivating areas for growing and harvesting medicine and food. This space would support the growth and healing for all of our community members and families, from birth to death. Our goal is to create a healthy and nurturing relationship with Mother Earth and each other to maintain holistic health and wellness for our families and community.

We have been able to do this work over the years from community support. We are calling upon friends and the community to help share about our work as we move our work forward in a direction that will support our community and families. Your involvement in our project means more than just financial support; it signifies a commitment to creating a healthier Bemidji for everyone.
