A safe place for children on the Mexico Border
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Adam Waddell,
I've been introduced to daily life in the border town of Tecate, Mexico. Tecate is beautiful, and I've fallen in love with the people there. However, their position is troubling. The crush of uncontrolled immigration is causing unprecedented strain on communities, and few have suffered more than the border towns. These are typically impoverished cities, to begin with, but now add tens of thousands of migrants from all over the world with nothing, and crime and cartel activity have become severe.
We are working with the catholic church in Tecate, "Inmaculada Concepcion Maria," to build a safe place for children. We have acquired a building, and through donations and fundraisers the women of the church have done, we have been able to get in place and raised on steel-reinforced pillars. We need to finish out the interior and enclose the downstairs to make the classrooms for the kids. We are lucky to have a large workforce but no financial resources to buy materials. We hope to raise money here to finish the building and provide a safe place for the children to grow and learn. The total necessary to finish is under ten thousand dollars, but we are building it in passes as we get the supplies, so we are asking for a small sum.
This is a good cause, and these children deserve our support.
